UN: In the pandemic, the number of hungry rose by a third and continues to rise
The number of people at risk of hunger now stands at 41 million, up from 34 million last year, according to the UN World Food Program (WFP).

According to the organization, the people of Ethiopia, Madagascar, South Sudan, and Yemen are most likely to face hunger.
In this regard, this year WFP launched the largest operation in the history of the organization — it covers 139 million people around the world, that is, about half of those who are hungry or experiencing food shortages. WFP estimates the aid to fight food shortages at $710 million.
