Former U.S. President Donald Trump said that the current head of state Joe Biden gave up all positions in Afghanistan and knelt before the Taliban. He said this during a rally in Alabama, the New York Post reports.
He added that he had been in contact with the head of the Taliban's political office, Abdul Ghani Baradar.
“I can't do anything about it, they have been fighting for hundreds of years, they are doing it. And they are good fighters. But I had a good relationship with them,” Trump said.
The former American president also said that he tried to conclude an agreement with the Taliban, but his further defeat in the presidential election prevented the right course of the deal.
“Then we had a fake election, a new president. The new president took office, fell on his knees, and said: come in, take everything we have. It's a shame, the most humiliating thing we've ever seen, “ Trump said.
Earlier, Trump called on the US armed forces to be ready to return to Afghanistan.
