Trump on the terrorist attack in Kabul: «This tragedy should not have been allowed to happen»

Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his condolences to the families of the U.S. troops killed in the terrorist attack in Kabul and called what happened a “tragedy”.

“Melania and I offer our deepest condolences to the families of our brilliant and brave service members whose duty to the United States meant so much to them. Our thoughts also go out to the families of the innocent civilians killed in the brutal attack in Kabul. This tragedy should not have been allowed to happen — and that makes our grief all the more profound and difficult to understand,” Fox News quoted the politician as saying.

According to Trump, the terrorist attack would not have happened if he were currently president of the United States.

Previously, Trump has been critical of the current President Joe Biden, namely his attitude toward the situation in Afghanistan. In his opinion, there should be no “weak spots” in the White House.

On Thursday, August 26, several explosions occurred near the airport in Kabul. The death toll from the attacks in Kabul exceeded 100 people, at least 13 of whom were U.S. military personnel.

Earlier, Biden held Trump responsible for the deaths of U.S. troops in the Kabul attacks.
