American women demanded the right to an abortion in Washington

Thousands of American women took to the streets of Washington to participate in the "Women's March", which is designed to draw the attention of politicians and society to the problems of inequality. This is reported by The Washington Post.

The demonstrators held a rally in Freedom Square near the White House and marched to the US Supreme Court building. According to the organizers, a total of about 600 actions were held throughout the country.

Many participants held posters with the slogans "I am a woman, not an incubator", "My body is my choice" and others. The demonstrators demanded to prevent the tightening of abortion laws in the country and opposed the law that came into force in Texas in early September. Now, in most cases, abortions after six weeks of pregnancy are prohibited in the state. The ban also applies in cases where conception occurred as a result of rape or incest. In addition, the law allows everyone to sue those who violate these rules.

Earlier, activists of the Femen movement protested at the US Embassy in Madrid because of the law banning abortions adopted in Texas. The girls bared their breasts and made inscriptions in support of the residents of the American state.
