Apple intends to notify users about the surveillance them through gadgets

Apple intends to notify users whose iPhones could become the target of a hacker attack. The innovation was revealed by Gizmodo journalists.

The corporation took such a step because of surveillance using spyware by the Israeli company NSO Group. Apple clarified that now users will be sent notifications via email and iMessage, as well as to their Apple ID web page.

"Threat notifications are intended to inform and assist users who may have been targeted by state-sponsored attackers," the corporation said in a statement.

The notification itself is formulated as follows: "Attention! State-sponsored attackers could have attacked your iPhone." According to experts, the company does not plan to specify who exactly is behind the hacking, that is, it will not indicate the hacker group or their country of origin.

Earlier it was reported that Apple filed a lawsuit against NSO Group and its parent company Q Cyber Technologies because of the Pegasus software.

With the help of the Pegasus spy program, the phones of politicians and journalists around the world were hacked. The malicious software had access to the location, passwords, stored credentials, as well as the camera and microphone of electronic devices. It was claimed that Pegasus used a vulnerability found in the iPhone and imperceptibly compromised the devices.
